Tyler started a Substack… but it’s not what you think.

At Montecito Valley, we’re in the business of telling stories—not just about properties, but about people, purpose, and place. And now, for the first time, Tyler’s telling his own.

After months (okay, years) of gentle nudging from our team, Tyler finally launched something we’ve always known he had in him: a personal writing platform that peels back the curtain on what it really looks like to build a real estate brand from the ground up.

His new Substack Building Quietly in Montecito isn’t your typical real estate blog. You won’t find market predictions or luxury flexes. Instead, you’ll find honest reflections on leadership, business, growth, and grit, all shared from the perspective of someone who’s been doing the work behind the scenes in one of the most competitive and exclusive markets in the country.

Working alongside Tyler day to day, we’re constantly inspired by his process, his clarity, and his commitment to doing things differently. He’s not in this for the spotlight. He’s in it to build something that lasts, and that shows up in every part of how he leads.

This first piece is a vulnerable and thoughtful look at what it means to grow a team, navigate a shifting market, and stay grounded in the values that matter most. It’s a glimpse into the real story of Montecito Valley and the kind of leadership we’re proud to stand behind.

We’d love for you to read it, share it, and follow along. Because if this is just the beginning, we can’t wait to see what’s next.
